The grading scale is as follows:
A 90 - 100 B 80-89 C 70-79 D 60-69 F 59 and below Late Work Harlan County High School SBDM Council Policy: Make Up Work (HC007) Policy states "Make-up assignments or tests shall be made available to students after an excused absence or school related activity. Make up assignments will not be made available for unexcused absences. It is the student’s responsibility to find out the assignments and make up the work within the allowed period of time for make -up work designated by the Harlan County Board of Education. Teachers shall inform students of the due date for all make up work on the day it is obtained by the student; however, it is the responsibility of the student to request make-up work and complete and submit said work for assessment by the due date. Students shall receive credit for satisfactory make-up work completed and submitted by the assigned due date, but students shall receive a grade of zero (0) for any assignment or test not made up within the allotted time. Make up work for students who miss a class/day with a school related activity shallbe permitted to make up any/all work missed for that day. All make-up work shall be consistent and equitable with the work missed during the normal class period." Honors Classes: 100% for work submitted when the teacher calls for the assignment-- NO CREDIT any time after that Standard Classes: 100% for work submitted when the teacher calls for the assignment 10% deduction for work NOT submitted at the time it was collected in class BUT submitted before the end of the day following. NO CREDIT for work submitted any time after that. * Typed essays and research projects will be penalized 10% per day late for a maximum of 3 days (90%, 80%, 70%). After 3 days, NO CREDIT will be given. Request to Retest Students who wish to retake a test/quiz must print and complete the form below and attach two activities they have completed to remediate/improve their comprehension of the concept. Retests must be completed within 10 days of receiving the initial test score and before the last week of each grading period. Absences and Make-up Work If a student is absent, it is that student's responsibility to contact me/check the missing work board/view the appropriate section of the website to find out the assignment they missed and download any documents needed to complete those assignments. Non-Compliance Students that choose NOT to complete assignments as directed are, in fact, choosing to take a zero. In the event a student chooses to sleep in class, be disruptive, or otherwise not complete assignment, that student will receive a zero that can not be made up. That student will also be asked to complete a non-compliance form in effort to hold them accountable for their choices. |
