Real World Expectations
I know that teenagers tend to think that they are grown and that they don’t need rules any more, but this is where I base my philosophy. I have never had an employer who:
• was not bothered if I was rude or disrespectful to others
• was fine if I was late or frequently absent
• allowed me to wear whatever I wanted
• didn’t mind if I slept on the job
• let me set my own deadlines
• felt like I should be paid when I didn’t work or if I didn’t come to work prepared
• thought that the company rules didn’t apply to me
Because I want my students to be prepared for the “real world” that they will be entering so soon, I will hold them to the same expectations as an employer or a college professor would. I do not anticipate any problems, but I will let you know if there are issues.
Therefore, the classroom expectations are as followed:
Students that do not meet the classroom expectations will, just like in the real world, face progressive disciplinary action. That policy is as follows:
*This policy was amended on October 1, 2015
1st offense: Warning
2nd offense: Teacher-Student Conference
3rd offense: Teacher-Parent contact
4th offense: referral to administration
